About Me
Born and raised in Charlevoix by loving parents, I pursued my dream as a 7 year old to become a Veterinarian. After attending Central Michigan University and receiving my undergraduate degree from Michigan State, I met the love of my life, Mary Lu. Following graduation from MSU School of Veterinary Medicine and our marriage, we decided to head north where I became a Staff Veterinarian in Traverse City for 2 1/2 years. I next established my own practice, the Charlevoix Veterinary Hospital back in my hometown. Later after I sold my practice, I received a call from Dr. Thorp asking me to help her out at her Maple River Veterinary Associates. I soon found the high quality of her practice and her compassionate way of treating her patients and clients were a perfect fit for me. The staff's efficient, caring, and respectful attitude toward animals to this day make it a pleasure for me every day I'm there. In my spare time, I enjoy wood working, biking, as well as traveling and hiking with my wife. We've even joined a Northern Georgia Hiking Group that hikes sections of the Appalachian Trail during the winter months. Above all, we treasure our time with our 3 grown children, our 4 grandsons and our Collie, Sweet Clover.
